First Floors offers a boutique collection featuring the coastal golden rays of Blackbutt and the attractive wild warmth of Spotted Gum. Sourced from our finest hardwood species, Hurford’s use a stable hevea core along with native Australian hardwood lamellas to provide a consistent and sturdy construction. First floors is an engineered timber flooring that is finished with Osmo Polyx® a Hardwax Oil with a matte finish that is highly stain resistant and designed to reduce/slow down the natural yellowing of timber.     Tongue & Groove Locking System
    A tongue & groove locking system allows boards to go together seamlessly. It simplifies the whole installation process allowing boards extra stability and adds to the overall durability and aesthetic. It is a preferred installation method by most flooring installers.

    Oil Finish
    An oil finish provides high resistance in the timber, it penetrates the wood offering great protection and is considered a more eco-friendly finishing option. First Floors is finished with the original hard wax oil – Osmo Polyx® providing a luxurious natural look and feel.

    Sustainability
    First Floors is an engineered floor that is manufactured using an eco-friendly Hevea as the core material and a tough Australian hardwood lamella for the wear layer. This layered construction produces a product that has less of an impact on the environment unlike solid flooring as a much smaller amount of timber is used, resulting in less harvesting of precious resources.

    Engineered Construction
    The innovative layered construction of engineered flooring makes for an extremely durable and stable product compared to traditional solid flooring which is made from a single solid piece of wood. Australian Native is constructed with a Hevea core material and has a 4mm wear layer of Australian Hardwood species as the lamella, this makes each board less likely to warp or buckle with changes in temperature and humidity.
